Anyone who looks at the date of my last post might think I’ve been loafing. Not so.
In fact, the last three weeks have been a whirlwind
of eating and drinking,
interviewing and reviewing, cooking and cruising (on the Seaborn Spirit), touring (did you know they found 35 bakeries and 82 carbonized loaves of
bread in the ruins of Pompeii?), taking classes (including one by Seabourn chef
Björn Wassmuth, whose elegant take
on the lemon tart is pictured here), testing recipes, and tasting…everything from seasonal
mushrooms, olive oils and quinoa to thirty-minute pasta dishes, Champagne cocktails
and inexpensive Merlots from the Friuli-Venezia area
I’ll be sharing all of this and more in the coming days.
Good. I was afraid you'd been kidnapped in Venice!
